5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and lightweight, December 1, 2007

Our big and heavy Dirt Devil Platinum Force quit after 5 years of service and we decided to try something lighter and much less expensive.

The Breeze arrived in 3 days, even with free shipping - thanks Amazon!
Assembly was a breeze, just 4 screws. We have over 1500 sq ft of carpeted areas and steps so I put the new vacuum to work.

Pros:
-- Price (and I also used a gift certificate) - sweet!
-- Lightweight! What a difference it makes.
-- Very powerful. It sucked a full dirt container from our house.
-- Thermal protective device - according to the manual this will shut off the motor to prevent overheating (what our old vacuum did not have)

Cons:
-- No HEPA filter out of the box but the next time I replace the filter I can get a HEPA filter from Amazon
-- To use the hose (on the steps, inside car) I needed to detach the main hose and connect the special hose. But it's cool how you plug-and-twist the hose... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars The Breeze is a mixe bag(less) of good and not so good, May 11, 2008

First off, how do you say "mixed bag" about a "bagless" vacuum? Well however you say it, here is my opinion on it - the good and the bad. I purchased mine as a second vac, and despite past nightmares with entry bagless vacs, wanted something I could empty after each occasional use vs. store away with a partly filled bag.

On the pro side: This unit is VERY light in weight. Great for those with arthritis or anyone who is carrying a vacuum up and down stairs. What is not lightweight is the power - it definitely has good suction. I also like the slightly narrower width whem compared to most other vacuums - 13" wide vs the more common 15" wide may not seem like much, but this fits in narrow places yet is still a full power vac.

On the neutral side: Emptying is easy, but like most entry level bagless units, the filter is a mess to deal with. Best bet is, from time, use a second vac to clean this units filter, or used canned air outside upwind.

2.0 out of 5 stars Built Like a Tank, Sounds Like One, Too!, December 26, 2008

This review is from: Dirt Devil Breeze Bagless Upright Vacuum, M088160RED (Kitchen)
I've had my Dirt Devil Breeze for (3?+) years now (Obviously an older version but based on what I see from the picture nothing had changed much.) Bought this as replacement to a previous vacuum cleaner which had the "fan" (not sure if this is the correct word for it) that was in the path of the dirt (I believe that was a hoover). I used it to pick up some solid object and got stuck in the "fan" which caused it to break on me. The design of the breeze was a lot better since the filter catches objects before it gets to the suction mechanism. Overall, does what its supposed to do.
Cons:
- The exhaust out in front was definitely a design "duh". But you wouldn't realize it till you use it for picking up light material (e.g. small bird feathers).
- Is there an easier way to switch from bottom suction to the onboard tools?
- Emptying the canister is definitely a hassle (but sames me money in the long run)
- *LOUD* And I cannot say this enough. My... Read more

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... Read more

You really can't beat the price for the quality and ability of this little vacuum cleaner. But beware, it is little, best for smaller spaces or an apartment. The suction and hose attachment function well. It's very portable and easy to remove the canister. Although getting all the debris out of it takes a good amount of shaking. All in all a nice option if you don't have a lot of square footage and want a light, little cleaner.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Bagless Upright with On-Board Tools - M084650RED (Kitchen)
I have owned this superb vacuum for at least3-5 days and it is a powerful little vac that acts like a big 12amp vacuum. And I have found that it not olny picks up the big clumps of nasty horrfying dirt and grit but also the little specs of dirt that ruin carpets. And the hose never clogs up and, Ifound out that if you take the hose off an actual 12amp vacuum and use that to clean off the heapa filter in the DirtDevil`s dirt compartment it basically makes it look like it`s brand new.P.S.It has really awsome excellent scution through the floor nozzle and hose and the beater brush beats the living heck out of our carpet, so that`s why it`s so powerful ect...

Rating: 3.8

List Price : $129.99 Price : $98.54
Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum, Bagless, UH70120

Product Description

Keeping the standard of clean set on high, Hoover introduces the new Windtunnel T-Series family of bagless upright vacuums, combining a sleek lightweight design with superior cleaning power that is easy to use with a practical price. This hi-tech bagless vacuum has ingenious options, such as an automatic rewind cord for quick and easy wrap up when you are done cleaning and a height adjustment feature to ensure roll brushes are at the proper height. A cord clip is just below the handle on the back side of the unit and it keeps the cord out of the way while cleaning. Requiring minimal maintenance, the Windtunnel T-Series has a rinsable filter that can be easily cleaned under running water and a high quality HEPA filter - neither of which will need to be replaced with proper care. The Windtunnel T-Series vacuums feature Hoover's patented Windtunnel Technology with air passages that trap dirt and channel it into the dirt cup, significantly minimizing blowback and scattering back onto the floor. While each model is lightweight, they still offer full Hoover power for a deep down clean and no loss of suction. All models have specially designed tools for cleaning tough to reach areas.

  • Lightweight upright vacuum cleaner with WindTunnel Technology for consistent suction
  • Five position height adjustment; 13-1/2-inch-wide nozzle; no-scuff bumper

4.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Be Happier With My Hoover Vacuum Cleaner, January 26, 2010
By
Charlotte Mom "CharlotteMom" (Charlotte, NC United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum, Bagless, UH70120 (Kitchen)
I previously had a Hoover Windtunnel, it lasted two houses and over 9 years and it finally had enough of keeping up with our two children and 4 pets. So I went out to every website I could find with reviews on vacuum cleaners, including Amazon, and looked at everything from the Dyson, Kenmore, Dirt Devil, Hoover, and so many more. I promised myself that after I used my vacuum cleaner for 3 months I would help all those out there like me looking for a good review and let them know about my experience because the reviews were so helpful to me.
So after reading a bunch of reviews I was leaning towards a Dyson or a Kenmore Progressive. Well my friend had a Dirt Devil M140005 Vision Cyclonic 12 Amp Upright Vacuum Cleaner, a Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum, and a canister vacuum cleaner (forgot the brand) that she let me test out. Let's just say I hated all three, the Dirt Devil was a joke, the Kenmore was so heavy and a pain to use, the canister was a pain to use and none of... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great vacuum for a great price, January 14, 2010
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum, Bagless, UH70120 (Kitchen)
I love this vacuum! It is one of the best purchases I've ever made.
PROS:
* Picks up so much hidden dirt in our thick carpet, it scared us the first time we looked in the canister!
* For how much power it has, it is actually very quiet - actually quieter than our old 10 amp vacuum
* Turns on a dime and gets into nooks and crannies really well - we don't have to use the hand tools on every single wall edge
* The attachment with moving brushes cleans stares amazingly well
* No filters or bags to buy - this is a huge plus as we could never find a replacement filter for our old vacuum
* The cord is very long and it retracts into the vacuum. Wow. I find wrapping up long cords so annoying. Having this cord self retract is actually kind of fun (ok, so I'm easily amused!)
* The color is trendy.
* It is fairly lightweight
* I like that you can adjust the height for different carpet lengths. I know that this isn't really a... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Vacuum Cleaner!, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Upright Vacuum, Bagless, UH70120 (Kitchen)
My daughter and her b/f gave me this vacuum cleaner for Christmas.
The first time I used it I could have sworn it was self-propelled.
I have a bad back and it was always difficult for me to drag the vacuum cleaner out and push it across the floor, never mind having to coil the cord back up after-wards. This vacuum is very light in comparison to my Dirt Devil.

I have a cat that sheds terribly and I was amazed at how much fur was collected, never mind the fine dust, etc. Emptying the cup was ok. Some of the fur got stuck at the bottom, I had to put two fingers in and pull it out.. no biggie!

All in all, I'm very happy with this product. No bags, no filters to buy, not even the Hepa filter needs to be replaced.
